A Winter Sport

The temperature is 10 degrees fahrenheit and there are 12 inches of snow blanketing the ground. Many players have traded their soccer cleats and uniforms for skis and snowboards. As you drive by what used to be the soccer field, all that can be seen are two net-less goals looking rather lonely in a vast expanse of ice and snow. It is almost as if soccer has gone into some sort of hibernation not to return until next spring......or has it.
On the other side of town stands an awkward looking building resembling an old warehouse. The parking lot is packed and you can sense the excitement radiating from the building as you approach the entrance. Once inside any thought about soccer being in hibernation is erased completely from your mind. You have entered the indoor soccer center with two soccer fields both of which have a match that is currently in progress. It is here that players will continue to enjoy the beautiful game until the snow melts and the temperature rises.
You see, when you truly love the game you can't imagine taking a few months off. You want to play all the time if possible. Soccer is not just a spring, summer, or fall sport. It is meant to be played and enjoyed by everyone year round.
Do yourself a favor and go kick a soccer ball :)
A New Brand

So, you are probably saying to yourself: “What is Sawol all about anyway?” I mean, what really is the purpose of having a new soccer brand especially here in the United States? In response to these statements let me share my thoughts with you for a few moments.
For years I have wanted to start a business but I could never seem to find the right niche. After observing multiple franchise opportunities and “get rich quick” schemes, I began to get discouraged. While studying business in college, one of my professors’s said that if we were going to start our own business it would have to involve something that we loved.
Well, there are very few things that I truly love, so that narrowed it down for me considerably. One thing that I have had a passion for since I was a small child is the beautiful game of soccer or futbol as it is commonly known to many of you. Not necessarily a passion for any one team or club, but for the actual game itself.
It was shortly after my professor’s comment that the idea for Sawol was born. While there are other brands that offer soccer apparel as part of a complex apparel portfolio, I saw a unique need for an American brand that is dedicated exclusively to soccer.
The name Sawol is an acronym that stands for “soccer, a way of life.” In the past America has not fully embraced the game, but our time is here. We are excited to be part of this new American pastime.
Since we are a new company we are constantly learning. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Feel free to contact us. We would love to hear from you.
