It's Time to Move Forward
As a player you know how important it is to always be "on your toes." No matter where you are on the pitch it is imperative that you are always ready to strike, to make a move and to leave your defender scratching his/her head wondering what just happened.
As a growing company it is time for us to take the next step. We have been talking to you (players, coaches and fans) from around the world to get your input into how best we can move forward together. (We have also spent quite a bit of time enjoying our favorite hands on research-playing the beautiful game!). We are now taking those ideas and putting them to action.
Over the next few weeks we will be unveiling the updated face of the Sawol company. We would love to continue to hear your thoughts and feedback as to how we can better serve the global soccer community. Together we will continue to spread the soccer love.
Thank you for your continued support.
The Sawol Team.

Resourceful
(on and off the pitch...)
No matter what phase of life you are in there are always going to be times when things do not go as you had planned on them going. It is during these times that we are called on to be resourceful.
The Sawol team is dedicated to enhancing the soccer culture in the United States and around the world. That being said, it is extremely important that we enhance the soccer culture in our local community.
Recently there was a large soccer tournament that was held in our area. Soccer players from all over the region came to this soccer tournament to enjoy the beautiful game.
So, being the resourceful, soccer loving brand that we are, we set up a makeshift Sawol soccer booth just down the road from where the tournament was being held.

We had a blast meeting new people in the community and sharing the Sawol soccer passion with the local community.

Soccer, a Way of Life for Jared Montz
The Sawol team is always excited to meet soccer players and fans around the World. Recently we had the privilege of meeting Jared Montz, a professional soccer player who resides in the United States and runs an online soccer academy. He was generous enough to answer a few questions below for our readers. Check out his website today:www.jmsoccer10.com
Sawol:Can you provide a brief bio about yourself?
Jared: I was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana outside of New Orleans. Played college soccer at Lynn University. Played professional soccer for the Chicago Fire, Vancouver Whitecaps, and Puerto Rico Islanders. Retired in March 2009 due to injury issues. Now I own and operate my two businesses, Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camps and the Jared Montz Online Soccer Academy.
Sawol: Can you provide a brief bio/description of your online soccer academy?
Jared: It is a safe online environment for players to learn new soccer smarts, skills, and techniques. Players receive 2-3 training videos a month via the Internet they can practice on their own in the backyard whenever they want. Besides learning soccer it is a place for players to get inspired to reach their dreams. Online Soccer Academy features include a message center, game review page, juggling chart, chance to win a $1,000 college scholarship and much more!
Sawol: Why did you start the academy and why should someone participate?
Jared: I started it because I felt like it would be a cool new way for players to learn soccer and get inspired. Players in America only train with their teams once or twice a week. The rest of the time they need to train on there own and don’t always know what to do; I didn’t growing up. Now I plan to fix that. Someone should participate if they want to learn new exercises and skills to improve themselves as players. Training videos are designed to teach a player on a personal level. Also I think the motivational aspects will benefit every player that joins.
Sawol: What is the best advice that you ever received from someone?
Jared: Not sure if I can give you the best advice, because I have been giving a lot by some great people. Chris Armas, Chicago Fire and US National Team legend, advised me to read a book called S.C.O.R.E Life in the Zone by Jim Fannin. The book was great for me! A good piece of advice in it talks about being in the moment. Before games and practices I used to recite a saying from it that went like this, “I have no future, I have no past, my only goal is to make the present last”. It helped me get in the Zone and not think about anything but playing at that very moment.
Sawol: What is your favorite source for inspiration?
Jared: Hard to pick a favorite on this one, I get inspired from a lot sources and even sports commercials sometimes! My biggest source of inspiration is hearing stories about my players I coach. Nothing is more motivating than hearing one of my players made the team, earned a character award, or other coaches compliment them on how hard they work. Seeing them work hard and believe in themselves is the biggest source of inspiration for me.
Sawol: How would you define success?
Jared: Good question, I would say success is setting a goal and then giving it everything you have to reach that goal. If you make it great! If you don’t, the most important thing is that you said you were going to do something and you went for it 100% and one day you can look back with no regrets. You may not reach all of your goals, but with that attitude you will reach most of them!
7. Can you provide us with a little known fact about yourself?
Soccer fact is my best goal had to be when I played for the Chicago Fire. It was a game against K.C. in the reserve league. Brian Plotkin chipped me a ball just outside the center circle, I took it off my chest, it bounced, and then I hit a half volley. By the time I looked up it was going over the goalie’s diving out reached hand and dipping under the crossbar for a goal! It was from 35-40 yards out and I just as easily could have whiffed it. I was in the Zone and didn’t even look up before I shot; just felt it in my gut to shoot, so I did!
Personal fact is I would rather be in a swamp and walk up on an Alligator than a snake; I hate snakes!!
